Protect your campus through enterprise risk management
Managing your campus’ environmental, health, safety & sustainability (EHS&S) risk is more complicated than ever and it’s not just about compliance anymore. Whether it’s natural disasters, competing environmental regulations and priorities, or digital and social media threats, campus leaders need to be proactive when it comes to managing risk, and it’s not just the EHS&S team’s responsibility.
Personnel at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington planned in advance for Hurricane Florence, but it’s tough to restore a campus that absorbed 34 inches of rain and is home to 4,200 students. The sheer number of risks facing colleges and universities can be daunting. And only 26 percent of survey respondents think their institutions’ responses to reputational risk are consistently proactive, and 54 percent said they don’t have the ability to withstand a major reputational risk event.
